| Our age-generational diverse workplaces are creating new challenges for leaders in today's organizations in such areas as employee recruitment, communication, motivation and retention. Although much has been written/said on the differences, gaps and conflicts between the four distinct generations (Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millennials) there also exists many commonalities. Wise leaders will seek to manage both. The main goals of this session are to: briefly outline the main characteristics of each generation while avoiding the stereotyping that is common in many intergeneration studies; examine strategies for leaders to develop/maintain trust , respect and credibility among all employees; and for the participants to develop practical/concrete suggestions for managing diversity in the areas of organizational recruitment, culture/design and employee motivation/ satisfaction, performance management and training.
